Is Script Writing Dead?

One time my niece was complaining to my sister about the script writing exercises which she had to finish. At eight years old,  she smartly remarked the lack of importance of script writing since everything  else can be learned and communicated through gadgets. With that explanation, I am getting the point that all she needs to practice on is type fast on the keyboard. In this age of modern technology, is script writing already a dead art? By judging the learning environment of children these days, I think it is slowly becoming a dead art. Almost all children today would rather hold gadgets rather than a pen and a piece of paper to write.   I learned script writing when I was young and I thought (until now) that I have great advantage over people I know who did not learn it. For one, it is cool that I can read script signages while they can’t.   Motor skills is developed by script writing. This is one thing which must not be neglected as it comes in handy for children as

Speak Another Language Through Immersion Learning

Are you dreaming to learn a specific language other than your native tongue? Oh well, I do. Even though I have already taken up units in basic Spanish some time ago, I would love to learn more of it until I can speak it fluently.   If you share my sentiments, I think you better give immersion learning a try. My friends taking sociology classes were the first ones from whom I heard this term. Later on, I learned that it is used in varied studies and one of them is language learning. If you are quite old to start learning a language, they say, it would be difficult for you to learn it mainly through books. However, you can still be successful on it by choosing to live in the country of its origin. Not only will you learn grammar and sentence construction in that vernacular. Rather, you would learn the way native speakers deliver each word with appropriate pronunciation. More so, you would have perfect choice of words with regard to the expression of your feelings and tho

Online Learning Vs. Traditional Learning

It seems that everything you want to learn can already found in the internet. You just really have to be patient in researching for the right information about the topic you are interested in.   As we all know, not everything available in the cyber space is from a reliable source. As the thought of doing further studies during my free time often catches my attention, online courses look very much enticing to me especially those related to my interests.   They appear much cheaper to me – lower rates and absence of fare budget as I need not travel just to be in school. I am still thinking though whether it would be more effective than the traditional model? I have read some articles on this and the views are quite diverse. Some point out that humans genuinely learn when there is a face-to-face classroom set-up where there is personal interaction. Those   who represent the twenty-first century learners,   on the other hand, voice out that learning in a virtual classro

On Real Books And Ebooks

I may have been a fan of the traditional book, but I cannot deny the fact that I also love to read books using my Kindle especially when I travel. This offers a lot of convenience on my end because I do not need to carry a full bag of books, I just have to bring my electronic book reader with me when I  go out. :) But when I prefer to stay at home especially during weekends and holidays, I still hold a real book. That enables me to save on electricity costs as well, since I need to charge my Ebook reader so I can use it again as opposed to the traditional book . With the real one, you can just flip the pages and not worry about grabbing the charger next to you. All you need is a well lit place so you can read the contents. What about you? Which would you prefer? A real book or an electronic one?

Different Learning Curve

I believe that one needs to learn in order to live his life to the fullest. That explains why I love to know more about things that interest me. I finished a degree in Communication and would want to pursue a post graduate degree related to my college course, but since my schedule would not allow it, I just read books and do some online research to feed my brain with new information. Feel free to drop by and read my posts about different topics related to arts, communication, education and business.
